The following is an
overview of the sequence of events of a typical job.
Once a job has been confirmed, the countertop project
goes through these steps of production: templating,
fabrication, tear out and installation. Tear out, if
needed will be done the day of installation.
Project Information
Below is a list of information we will
ask that you have before templating.
•
Stone Selection
•
Sinks – we will bring
undermount sinks back to the shop)
•
Faucet – make and model,
and hole placement
•
Cooktop / Range – make

•
Edge Preference
Template
We ask that you have your countertops
cleared prior to our arrival, and keep the work area free
of any objects. This will help us to finish the template
efficiently, and will protect your items. Templates usually
take a couple of hours. We will make a pattern of your
cabinets.
During this phase:
All sinks/cooktops/faucets will need
to be on site to check for compatibility and fit
Overhang, general support and any personal preferences
will be discussed
Seam placement will be discussed
You will be asked to sign the quote form and pay a 50%
deposit
Fabrication
Prior to fabrication, if the drawings
you submitted for a quote differ from your actual job
we will let you know and adjust the price accordingly.
Tear Out
If your project requires that we tear
out and remove your existing countertops, we will do so
at the time of installation. We will disconnect your plumbing
at the time of tear out.
Installation
Clear the work area of any objects and
a path for our installers to carry the granite. Remove
drawers as well as items under the cooktop and sink. Installation
can take the better part of a day and may require some
final cutouts to be made in your home. Our installers
are equipped to catch the majority of dust, but this may
produce some residual dust over the next couple of days.
Your undermount sink will be mounted under your stone.
We ask that you do not plumb in or use the sink in any
way for at least 12 hours. Please keep this in mind when
scheduling your plumber to reconnect the water and drain.
Cooktops and faucets will be dropped into place for confirmation
of fit.
Job Completion
Your inspection of the completed job
is very important. Any questions you may have can be answered
at this time. You will be given information about the
care and cleaning of your new countertop. Your final payment
of the balance due will be collected at this time. |
